A feminine, comfortable, and easy outfit feels like a small gift. We are not trying to overthink or overheat this summer when it comes to our ensembles, okay!? We just need an outfit we can still feel feminine, comfortable, and put together in.
This look was exactly that for me.
My wardrobe is very comfortable-but-feminine coded these days. I want pieces that are pretty, simple, and breathable enough for a warm day, and also still cute enough to wear out, take pictures in, or spend the day walking around.
Outfit Details
Okay, so as we can see, the skirt really is the star of the show. It really elevated the whole look and feel of the outfit, because had I thrown on jeans with this oversized faith-over-fear tee, it wouldn’t have hit quite like this. Here’s what I like about this skirt: it’s quality. It’s not see through, and it’s not so lightweight that it’s thin. But it is light enough to be breathable and give you that movie-like swish and flutter in a breeze.
Let me tell you something though, I’ll never get over these sandals. I bought these for my trip to Rome last year, and they’ve been my number one pair of sandals ever since. I can walk in these shoes all day and all night and my feet won’t ache—not even a little bit! Initially, when I came across them I sucked my teeth at the $80 price tag but I promise you, REEF knows what they’re doing with these. Between me and you, I’ve already bought another second pair and I have restrained myself from purchasing another. I always appreciate pieces that are easy to rewear, and these are definitely the kind of sandals that can go with several summer outfits.
Last and most importantly, the tee. The tee! I am a walking billboard, no matter what I put on—and so are you. Look how simple it is to share a meaningful message. We can inspire someone and not even know it. I’m sure we all have at some point. Someone could see this shirt and be reminded that that thing that they’re worried and fearful about, is no match for our God. You think it’s just a tee-shirt, and it is, but it’s also another way to proclaim our faith and shine a light in this dark world. The skirt may have been the star, but the shirt is the sun.

What I loved most about this look is that it felt like me. Faith inspired, modest, simple, and still stylish. And as simple as it was, people noticed this outfit. Who says modesty is stiff and boring? Tuh! This outfit is a good reminder that style does not have to be over the top, complicated or extremely expensive to be beautiful.
